Essence Iontophoresis Deep Cleansing and Moisturizing Facial Beauty Mask
I had the pleasure of reviewing the Essence Iontophoresis Deep Cleansing and Moisturizing Facial Beauty Mask from Beauty and the Paw Shop. When it arrived, it was boxed very professionally and beautifully. It was also sealed to ensure no one was able to tamper with it, which provided peace of mind. I want to take a few minutes and let you know both how the process went and then let you know my thoughts on how my skin feels post-treatment.
Before opening anything, make sure you cleanse your face thoroughly. The thought behind an Iontophoresis mask is that the current provided by the magnets attached to it allows the treatment to sink into your skin to allow it to work its magic. If your face hasn’t been washed, the mask has to work harder to get the desired treatment, so make sure you cleanse your face first.
After you wash your face, open the mask first. It’s the top package in the box you receive. Nothing is wrong – the mask is supposed to be delivered dry. The “essence” is the package underneath the face mask that feels sort of like a gel substance. Once you have the mask opened, pour the gel into the mask and let it sit for about 3 minutes to ensure the entire mask is saturated. The gel acts like water (which allows current to flow), so it’s important to saturate if you want the full impact of the mask.
Once the mask is on your face, take one of the 3 keys and place that key on the obvious forehead patch. It should clip on like a magnet. You may see a small spark (remember, there’s a current so this is normal) when you apply the key to the forehead of the mask. If the spark scares you, however, you can apply it before you put the mask on your face.
Next, you’ll feel this dichotomy of warm and cool against your skin. The honeycomb pattern is delivering the treatments throughout your skin via the current that’s completed with the key. Pretty cool, right? Keep the mask on for 15-20 minutes while it transforms your skin.
The last step is simple enough. Take the mask off and discard. Rinse your face with warm water and notice where your face looks and feels differently.
When I did my first mask, I noticed a definite tautness that was not there previously around my mouth and eyes. In fact, I noticed so much of a difference that I went to look in the mirror more than once. There was a very slight tingling sensation that I am assuming was the gel still working on my skin. Within 10 minutes, all tingling had subsided and my face still looks great.
There was no reaction to my skin, no red patches, no irritation – just more youthful, rejuvenated skin that definitely needed a big drink of water. The other reason I loved this mask experience is that it has natural ingredients that I love in my beauty products, such as hydrolyzed silk. This ingredient lends elasticity to our skin and leaves it feeling nice and smooth. It also includes extracts of Camellia Japonica seed which is known to deliver essential skin nutrients like Omega-6 fatty acids, antioxidants and lipids to moisturize and Chrysanthemum Indicum extract to soothe the skin. This additive is also known to have natural skin-whitening effects.
After I completed the mask routine, I am confident that I will soon revisit since the first experience was so pleasant. My experience with this innovative mask was a definite win. I’m looking forward to radiant, healthy skin in the days and weeks ahead!
